Personal: Holmes started fencing when she was nine following her interest in reading books about the middle ages and knights in shining armor. Holmes’ prestigious college career at Princeton saw her capture four All-American honors (2012, 2014, 2016 & 2017). She qualified for her first national team at 15-years-old and won a silver medal at the Cadet Worlds in her first World Championship appearance in 2009. A member of the Senior World Team since 2013, Holmes won both individual and team titles at her first Pan American Games in 2015. She competed at her first Olympic Games in 2016 and placed fifth with the U.S. Women's Epee Team after finishing 25th individually. On July 25, 2018, Holmes made history as a member of the first U.S. Women’s Epee Team to medal at the Senior World Championships, where she anchored the team to the gold medal.
