Non-Competitive Membership: Open to all persons upon payment of the dues for the membership year as specified herein. Includes secondary medical/accident insurance, but does not allow the member to vote or compete. Magazine subscription and membership card are not included. Membership can be upgraded.
Competitive Membership: Open to all persons upon payment of the dues for the membership year as specified herein. Competitive members have the right to enter and compete in local, divisional, regional, and national-level competitions, and may vote in elections of the USA Fencing membership subject to the member voting age restriction and deadlines as to the date of membership or be a candidate for office in USA Fencing elections. Competitive members may join for one-year term upon payment of dues as determined by the Board of Directors.
Collegiate Competitive Membership: Collegiate Competitive members have the same rights, benefits, and privileges as Competitive members. In order to become a Collegiate Competitive member, an individual must be listed as a member on an approved roster submitted by a College/University fencing club with a current USFA Affiliate or Club membership. Collegiate Competitive Membership is also open to all members of NCAA fencing programs. Collegiate Competitive members seeking the benefits of Professional membership may do so upon payment of dues equal to the difference between a Professional and Competitive membership and successful completion of a background screen.
Professional Membership: Professional members, including coaches, have the same rights, benefits, and privileges as Competitive members and additionally receive the benefit of a general liability insurance policy. In order to become a Professional member, an individual must successfully complete a background screening as required by USA Fencing.
+ Professional Upgrade: Current USA Fencing members may add the +Professional Upgrade to the following membership types: Life, Life Installment, Olympian Life, Paralympian Life, Multi year memberships, Supporting, Supporting Parent, or Non-Competitive. The upgrade includes the cost of the background screen and meets Safe Sport requirements. The original benefits of the membership are retained. One year competitive members should upgrade to Professional instead of adding +Professional.
High School Membership: **NEW in 2016-17 Individual High School Members will receive ratings/classifications at all recognized high school fencing events, secondary accident insurance, membership card, subscription to American Fencing Magazine, eligibility for High School All-American program and will be able to nominate their coach for National High School Coach of the Year. Be sure to consider High School Member Club memberships for significant savings, please see below for more information.
Supporting Membership: Supporting members enjoy the rights, benefits, and privileges of membership with respect to voting and holding office and receive American Fencing magazine; supporting members may not compete in USA Fencing sanctioned competitions. Supporting members may upgrade to a competitive membership upon payment of dues equivalent to the current competitive rate. Supporting membership add-ons are available for parents of competitive members under the age of 18, with a limit of two add-on supporting memberships.
Life Membership: On payment of dues as determined by the Board of Directors, Life members have the same rights, benefits, and privileges as Competitive members, and may vote in elections of the USA Fencing membership subject to the member voting age restriction and deadlines as to the date of membership or be a candidate for office in USA Fencing elections. Life members retain these rights, benefits, and privileges for the remainder of their natural lives without the payment of additional dues. Life members seeking the benefits of Professional membership may do so upon payment of an annual fee equal to the difference between a Professional and Competitive membership and successful completion of periodic background check.
Life Installment Membership: Open to all persons upon payment of one-tenth the dues for Life membership at the time of enrollment. Upon payment of membership dues installments for ten consecutive years at the same rate as at the time of enrollment, the membership will automatically be converted to Life membership. The purpose of this category is to allow individuals to become Life members by spreading the cost of the Life membership fee over a period of ten years.
Membership Extension Policy: A new competitive and non-competitive member whose annual dues are paid during the last four months of the membership year shall be entitled to a membership through the next membership year. This policy applies both to new members and to existing members who have never previously held a competitive membership.

Member Club: Member Clubs receive website Member Clubs will receive General Liability Insurance coverage through the USA Fencing policy. All members and participants of USA Fencing Member Clubs must be individual members of USA Fencing.
Affiliate Club: Affiliate Clubs can host sanctioned events, receive website listing, magazine subscription, and have the ability to field a team at national events, but do not participate in the USA Fencing insurance program.
** NEW in 2016-17-----High School Club: Beginning with the 2016-17 season, High School Fencing Teams can become High School Member Clubs of USA Fencing. For a flat fee, every member of the high school team becomes a High School member. Benefits include the ability for each team member to earn USA Fencing ratings, eligibility for the USA Fencing National All-American Team, and secondary insurance for each individual.
Subscription Membership: Open to all persons on payment of specified dues, but having the limitations that Subscription members may not compete, vote, nor hold office in the Association. Subscription members receive American Fencing magazine and other periodicals and electronic news releases from the Association.listing, magazine subscription and have the ability to field a team at national events.
Corporate Membership: Corporate Memberships are available to companies who support USA Fencing. The Corporate membership includes a listing and link on the website, subscription to magazine, discount on magazine advertising, and access to the following items: USA Fencing members through vendor coupon page, vendor registration at USA Fencing National Events (space is limited), banner advertising on score tables at USA Fencing National Events, and mailing labels at special rates.
