(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – USA Fencing would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported the Absolute Fencing Gear® FIE Grand Prix Boston.

Through the generosity of our title sponsor, Absolute Fencing Gear®, and silver sponsor Radical Fencing, we were able to host 315 of the world’s best saber fencers at Harvard University from Dec. 12-13 where U.S. fencing fans were able to see Olympians from around the world in action before the 2016 Olympic Games are held in Rio.

Athletes from 41 countries traveled to Boston to compete in one of the final qualifiers for the 2016 Games and the only Sabre Grand Prix in the Americas. Further, Team USA’s contingent of 48 athletes not only had the chance to fence in a Grand Prix on home soil, but cadet and junior athletes (our future Olympians for the 2020 and 2024 Games) got the rare opportunity to compete alongside World and Olympic medalists on the senior international stage.

These opportunities wouldn’t have been possible without the help of the tournament staff and volunteers who put in countless of hours before and during the Grand Prix to help with setup, teardown, replay camera operation, hospitality and all of the logistics that go into putting on an international event of this scale.

On behalf of USA Fencing, we would also like to offer our gratitude to our hosts at Harvard University and to all of those who made donations to support the Grand Prix and bring one of the world’s premier fencing events to the United States, including the following:
