USA Fencing announced on Wednesday that Tanya Brown (Aurora, Colo.) will be leaving her position as technical and compliance manager.

Brown, who joined the National Office in 2010, will remain on staff until Sept. 17. She  is working with the national events staff to develop and implement a transition plan as the department undergoes restructuring in preparation for the upcoming season.

A former foil fencer, Brown has been involved in the sport for more than 20 years and served as a national tournament volunteer from 2000-2009. Brown received the Jack Baker service award in 2010 for her contributions and, most recently, was instrumental in developing Points Based Qualification and the Regional Junior Cadet Circuit. During the past few seasons, Brown has been a key player in the implementation of new tournament technology structure that included the automated check-in process and streaming of live results at USA Fencing national events.

"Tanya has been an important part of USA Fencing and we want to thank her for her commitment and service to the sport of fencing.  We wish her the best and know she will continue to have success in her future endeavors," said USA Fencing Executive Director Kris Ekeren (Littleton, Colo.)
